When the 2022 floods devastated the Northern Rivers, Creative Capital launched Donate a Stay, a crisis accommodation program that mobilised the community's holiday rental network to house displaced families and individuals.
The initiative transformed the region's tourism infrastructure into emergency housing, connecting property owners with flood victims who had lost their homes. From Airbnbs and granny flats to entire motels, the response demonstrated the empathy of local businesses and how they could repurpose their resources in times of need.

Creative Capital's team worked behind the scenes to match over 250 people with temporary accommodation, coordinating stays from two weeks to several months depending on the individual needs.
Thanks to the support of local business, Donate a Stay established a model for future disaster response, proving that regional communities have the infrastructure and solidarity needed to support each other through crisis.
